History
Mariinsk Distillery is a well-known leader in the spirits industry.
- 1898 is the year of the beginning of the construction of the public wine warehouse in Mariinsk on request of the directorate-general of the tax-free charges and public drinking of the Ministry of Finance.
- The official warehouse foundation took place on 3 May 1900
- The output started with the production of table wine 40%, as well as alcohol 90 and 95%. During the first year 38 866 buckets of spirits were produced. The warehouse supplied the whole district with spirits till 1914.
- After several years of the prohibition of alcohol, in 1923 the CEC published the decree to resume the spirits production and selling. Mariinsk Distillery launched the production of fruit liquors and aperitifs.
- During the Second World War the distillery was integrated into food industry of the General provisioning state authority and was centered on manufacture of maritime safety facilities, intermediate layers for machine guns and airplanes, products of cork and alcohol, which was stored in metal barrels on request of the frontline.
- In 1949 Mariinsk plant was renamed into the Distillery and was integrated into the General Spirits authority of the Ministry of Food Industry of the USSR. In the 1950-1960s the distillery produced 26 types of spirits.
- In April 1986 the distillery was passed in the manage of the integration of agriculture and food industry of Kemerovo. During the period of Perestroika there was a decrease in the volume of spirits production, so the distillery started to produce soda, beverages and syrups, and later a marmalade department appeared. As a result, instead of an anticipated loss at a rate of 300 000, the profit at a rate of 173 000 was achieved, and 10 new items were created.
- Despite the crisis of the 1990s the distillery provided regular salaries to its employees and covered social warranties. Moreover, the distillery strengthened its position through the competition among the clandestine distilleries in the face of declining the product range because of the lack of sugar and container glassware.
- August 1997 - the company produced the first 275 decaliters of vodka on the Italian line in its new production shop.
- 7 June 2002 - the museum of the distillery was opened presenting all the numerous prestigious awards won by the company on the exhibitions and competitions at international, all-Russian and regional levels.
- 13 December 2002 - the first 38 bottles of Beluga Vodka were produced. As soon as a year later the first step line of bottling Beluga Vodka won the gold medal of the Grand Prix at the exhibition "LenExpo 2003", and it also received a gold mark at the all-Russian exhibition “the Quality Mark of the XXI century", presenting the capacity of 1200 bottles per hour.
- Due to the high demand for Beluga Vodka both in Russia and the CIS countries, in 2005 the capacity of the production line was increased to 3000 bottles per hour.
Beluga Vodka is prepared according to our own recipe, which includes natural Siberian ingredients with the purest water from unique artesian wells and a special malt spirit produced exclusively for Beluga Vodka. These components provide an exquisite, velvety and luxurious taste, with each bottle having a distinct character. Today Beluga Vodka products are successfully exported to more than 80 countries around the world. - In 2006 Mariinsk Distillery became part of Beluga Group (previously Synergy Group). Particular attention is focused on the acquisition and upgrading of equipment according to the world level of modern high technologies. Productive and technologically advanced equipment is implemented at its best. Constant restyling is based on the market development and the expansion of product ranges. Stylish design, high quality and effective marketing programs are the key points that allow not only to keep a strong position on the market, but also to conquer new territories and expand the geography of sales.
